About Us

We live in a world that can be tense and uncertain. Finding one’s peace is often a daily struggle. In our lives, we are encouraged to and sometimes forced to continue as if nothing is wrong. At Aivy Consult and Therapy, we provide space for open dialogue. We work from holistic, empathic, and strength-based perspectives, and utilize a variety of evidence-based counselling approaches that encourage recovery and healing.

Omo Ibhawoh is a dedicated clinical social worker registered with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service workers. She holds a BA Hons, Bachelor of Social Work with distinction from the University of Victoria and Master’s in Social Work from Dalhousie University with a specialization in physical and mental health.

Omo has 17+ years of clinical social work in various community health agencies and hospitals providing support to individuals dealing with mental health problems, addictions, and developmental disabilities.

Omo has obtained additional training and certifications in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy., Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is a Compassion Fatigue Specialist and has clinical certification in trauma counseling. She has also received training to provide Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, anger management counselling, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation.

Working as a clinical social worker with youths and adults from diverse and intersectional backgrounds, Omo has learned that the space we create together and the relational work we do is crucial to success in therapy. Her lived experiences allow her to acknowledge a wider perspective of society and the intersectional barriers faced by people from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. This informs her clinical support to individuals living with anxiety disorder, BPD, PTSD, depression, bipolar disorders, psychosis, chronic pain management, those affected by domestic abuse, marginalization, race-based PTSD, grief, and more.
